11:2 And it came to pass in an evening – time, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. 11:3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? 11:4 And David sent messengers and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 11:5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child. 11:6 And David sent to Joab, saying, send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David. (2 Samuel 11:2-6 KJV)
There is a big difference between love and lust, a former ex-president found that out the hard way. As in David’s case, it was lust. Love is not mentioned, nor was Bathsheba wooed, plus she was married. She had to commit to the demands of the King and when she became pregnant David committed murder.
There are some people that is saying David did not commit murder because the husband was in battle and was killed by the enemy. But it was David who told his army leaders to put Uriah in front so that he would be killed. Before that, David attempted to hide the fact he was the father of the coming baby by having Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, sleep with her. When that did not work, David sent Uriah to the front of the hottest battle so that he would be killed.
Looking at this reminds me that the same thing is happening today. Our ex-president has always acted like he is a king and want to do whatever he wants to do and believe no one can or should say he cannot do it. He also, like David, believe he can have any woman he wishes to have and said he could send seal-team 6 to kill anyone.
Like David, people were killed, not by him, but by his actions and words. I would be jailed if I hired a hitman to take out another person. As king, David could do anything. The ex-president wants to be a king and bring anything that he can upon everyone that is against him. As king, he can do this but, as only a president (the court have spoken) he is not immune to the laws of the land.
I have said many times that what went on in the Bible is happening today only slightly different.
God know and see everything, and Bathsheba’s child did not survive although David prayed and fasted. After the marriage of David and Bathsheba, Bathsheba gave him a son, Solomon.
Our ex-president wanted the things he has done hidden from everyone in fear they would see him through and through and know the truth. God is looking at him and will inflict His punishment when He choose. Remember the old saying, ‘whatever is done in the dark will soon come to light’. God is still in charge.
