4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: (II Peter 1:4-10 KJV)
Two blogs ago I started with II Peter 3, then II Peter 2, and now II Peter 1. Backwards, I know, but I write as the thoughts come to me. Maybe it is God. Maybe it is not. I don’t know but I trust it is God. Thinking about President Trump, after posting the blog on www.tega227.com, made me think about the above passage. It appears my two blogs, after years of writing them, are beginning to meld together in some way.
The President have put a lot of lust into the world by the lustful way he has acted. He does not have virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, nor charity. If he would only have some of these things, during his time in office, America and the world would be in a better place. He was corrupt before he came into office and he is still corrupt. And, this does not only apply to him but all of us. I try to use all that is listed, but I too, at times, fall short in achieving them. The narcissistic President, that we have, does not even try. Nor does the people that are around him. Nor does the people that support him.
Verse nine say that all who does not have these traits are blind and can not see what is ahead of them nor that, when Jesus died on the cross, they were purged of their sins. By disregarding these things, they must want to fall. God have a place for them, and it is not with the righteous. God have a fiery pit where there is no escape. Trying to throw shade onto the just is like trying to outsmart God. It can’t be done, and He will have His way with whomever try. Verse ten say you will not fall if the listed things are done. The President can not accomplish any of these things and, in God’s own time, he will fall.
Remember, Christ died on the cross so that we are purged of our sins. Let us follow in the path of Jesus, not a doomed President, and accomplish everlasting life in the place that He have prepared for us that follow Him. Following a doomed President will result in following him into the fiery pit of hell.
As a Christian, I find it unfortunate that you feel this way about our president. He may not be a perfect man, but neither are the rest of us. Why do you not see Trump as Jesus sees him, and see all the good things that he has done?
