26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Genesis 1:26-28 KJV)
Why am I referring to Genesis, the first book of the Holy Bible? Genesis is deep, if a person would take time to read it and think about the wording that appears. What made me think about Genesis was the latest killings in Texas and Ohio, through there were many before these and, I believe, will be many more after. My heart cry for the victims and their families.
I read and re-read chapters one, two, three and four. I concentrated on the story of Cain and Abel, brother killing brother. These killings are the same as Cain and Abel, if you really read Genesis. Most people that read the Bible only read, not understand. Some people even put their own spin into the mix. Then, some people quote the Bible, saying something that is not there. When asked to be shown the passage, they usually cannot.
I used verse twenty-six, and onward, because it shows God created man, male and female. That tells me that all people come from that one couple. Here is where I run afoul of many, many people. Therefore, all people are related, we all can look back at Adam and Eve as our fore parents. I care not where you originated or your language or the color of your skin (skin color derives from the climate of your ancestry land), we are all related because of that one fact. Adam and Eve. God created male and female. They multiplied and we, today, is the result.
The earth is forever changing, and the changes require all things to adapt, move to other areas that provides a source of living and, if it must be done, move in with kin that is in a place of plenty. For thousands of years nomads have roamed the earth, carrying goods or resettling in a new place. What is wrong with us doing that today? Why is it that we cannot love our brothers and sisters instead of doing what Cain did? God made man and woman and does not intend that we kill each other nor speak hatred toward our own kin, of which we all are. Cain killed Abel because he was jealous and thought God loved Abel more, he wanted to be at the top. Number one. Today, people want it all and do not want anyone to have any of it. They do not want others thinking more of anyone more than them. They do not think of others as kin, brothers. They want to be number one.
God said to be fruitful and multiply and so we did. God did not say one group or the other should have dominance over the other either. He said we had dominance over the animals (sea, air and ground). God showed Cain that 1) it was a sin to lie to him and 2) it was a sin to kill. Cain was banished, to forever roam the earth but the story goes on into other worldly things. But it still remains that we all are brothers and sisters, although we are different, and we must help each other, not kill each other. I am saddened that more people do not see Genesis as I do. Am I wrong? Show me…
