3:2 That all of you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days s coffers, walking after their own lusts, 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. (2 Peter: 2-4 KJV)
I have blogged before that we all must be mindful (careful) about the words spoken by the Lord’s apostles, the Holy Prophets. What rang true when and after the Lord God Almighty walked the earth, rings true today which tells us about tomorrow.
Among us are those that scoff at the notion of the earth ending because of evil deeds. The evil ones that scoff do not want an end because, so far, they are winning, doing things undesirable, and, at the same time, lining their pockets with everything and anything that they can.
3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word (o. logos) are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter:7-9 KJV)
It is written that earth will be destroyed by fire to rid us of the evilness that have taken hold. This make me think of global warming, forest fires, volcano eruptions, and other things I presently can not think of. This may seem slow but (I have written this in a blog) one day is like a thousand years to God and a thousand years is like a day. It is not slow, it is God waiting to see if we will conform to what He wants, it is only a few minutes pass two days.
If you do not want to get into Heaven but, instead, burn in Hell, continue the evil that is ongoing. God does not want to destroy us; He is giving us a little time to repent, and He may then reverse things. Not believing in what is written in whichever Bible you read (they all write primarily the same thing) is not believing in the word of God. By not attempting to do what God demands is like not believing that God really will do what He says.
May God have mercy on our soul because, as I see it, very few people are trying to do the will of our Lord. Man have been on this earth hundreds of thousands of years and He has destroyed civilization more than once and started over. The time to start over again is fast approaching. To wait until the time to start over gets closer may be too late. You will never know when He decide to do what He wants to do. It will also be too late to ask for forgiveness and try to act right. Believe me, the time is closer than you think.
