Soft And Sweet

4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. 4:26 Be all of you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 4:27 Neither give place to the devil. 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs. 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (Ephesians 4:25-29 KJV)

While under house arrest in Rome Paul wrote a letter to the church in the city of Ephesus. He was telling the Christians what God had given them and what is expected of them. Referring to last week’s blog (www.tega227.com), be kind to your neighbor, does not only mean just in kindness but also in everything. Everyone has a word(s) that will light the fuse to bring out anger or worst. There are plenty people in Congress that does that daily. It seems to be an occupation for them to do this.

My mother told me many times to never go to bed while still angry. The way things are today, it is hard not to go to bed angry because the anger will always be there. Roe v. Wade decision by SCOTUS have made so many people angry and they will remain angry for a very long time. The devil definitely has a foothold because on this.

Christians do not work at living lives of integrity and obedience to God in order to gain approval. They live obediently because they already have God’s approval. Someone should tell Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene this because she completely wipes out 4:29 and calls all GOP the party of Christians.

Trump called himself a Christian but most of his communications are worst than bad. The only person he speaks good words about is himself. In my other blog, last week, I said to make sure your words are soft and sweet. His words, Greene’s words, and many other Congressmen words are biting them hard. I do not believe any words they have spoken of others have made others smile with gratitude.

Remember who you are in Christ. Make every effort to preserve the unity of the spirit. Remember the spiritual resources available to you when the enemy tempts you to disobey God’s instruction. The devil is always around waiting for you to make a slip.

The book of Ephesians describes the new society God is building among His people. The foundation of this society is the death and resurrection of Jesus and the deliverance from sin’s bondage that He purchased for us. Entrance into God’s grace is through faith in Jesus Christ. The goal of the new society is to bring praise and honor to God the Father and to God the Son, Jesus Christ.

One of the bottom lines is to make sure your words are soft and sweet because words can hurt, and your soul will rot in hell for eternity.
