14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. (Revelation 3:14-19 KJV)

I enjoy watching Face The Nation and I can see many parallels between what is happening in today’s politics and the third chapter of Revelation. This is a very tumultuous time. Not only in the conflicts we are in around the world but in our core politics. Unlike what Rodney King asked, “can’t we all get along?”, there seem to be no togetherness to make peace even among ourselves. Even during the campaigning there is a candidate that, through the orations, insight unrest/violence.

“Not I”, he says but, in another breath, say “I will pay your bail”. This world is in turmoil and we need to pray and repent. We want to send troops to another country to stop whatever is happening but we ourselves don’t want to go. We just want to watch and complain, let someone else do it. The great majority of the young people are this way, therefore, who do we send in an all volunteer armed service? Yet, we are happy to go to a political rally and commit violent actions on our own. The others are wrong also but, to me, violence is never the answer.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (I Timothy 6:10 KJV)

It seem that is all people crave money even though it brings some very bad things. One of the candidates is a billionaire, one is a multimillionaire, and the others are either millionaires or close. Most people that have money and want more will tell you anything to get more. They care nothing about anyone except to get what they can out of them. If breeding violence as the start of the goal is the answer, then so be it. That is what’s done. The more people on their side, believing what is being said and forcing their belief on others, he’s won and money galore is his.

Bottom line. Listen with your ears, see with your eyes, understand with your brain, pray and love God. Do serious research, not what someone told you or what you think is true. Think, think, think what the consequences will be. The way it stand now (if I am, in my mind, predicting the political outcome correctly) the world will be against us, allies included. The armed services will be at an all time low and will not be able to defend the nation. Remember the fall of Rome or do they teach it in school anymore? How many older people remember what was going on with the Roman Empire? We are Rome and the Roman Empire and we may fall faster than they did. I don’t want to be like Rome. How about you? I want money but enough to be comfortable, not an overage. Repent!!!
