Galatians 3

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:26-29 KJV)

When I think of hurricane Maria, especially what the storm have done to Puerto Rico, I think of the above passage. When I think of the anguish that have overcome the mayor of San Juan Puerto Rico, I think of the above passage. When I think of the response of our president concerning Puerto Rico, I think of the above passage. When I think of the president I cringe at thinking he is our president, president of the United States of America. Yes, I dislike him but he is our president whether liked or not.

We are all the children of God, whether there is a believe in a God or not. I must assume those that read this blog have a belief in a God, regardless the faith practiced. However, a person that supposedly practice a faith, tweets all sorts of ignorance and speak mouthfuls of ranting hate, does not have a place in the presidency. He will speak words that have no place in the presidency. He has no regard for others which have no place in the presidency. He is egotistical which have no place in the presidency.

Puerto Rico is American as American can be. Look around you, there are Puerto Ricans everywhere, just like there are people from all over the world and ethnicity. The president do not care for them because they do not give or take away from his base of support, his voting block or his pocket book (except for the golf course that he bankrupted). From what I know and have read, Haiti received more plus faster aide than Puerto Rico. Of course that was a different president, different administration but, bottom line, they are not Americans. I hear a whisper in my head saying “God helps those who help themselves.”

These people have helped themselves as well as us on the continental mainland. Most of our drug makers have major factories there. For the drinkers, rum factories are there. The island have many things the mainland doesn’t. They are of Abraham’s seed, they are human, they are Americans, they need help. They don’t need sarcasm, a vindictive president. I can see help is needed. I can hear them saying help is needed. Why can not the president see or hear the same thing? Why is it he does not have empathy?

This nation have come together to help each other as each and every disaster have come upon us but that is not the problem. The president said it himself, they are on an island in the middle of a large ocean. That is not the problem. They have the supplies but they do not have an infrastructure. They can not quickly move anything received. They need more boots on the ground than provided. They need their brothers and sisters from the mainland to have mercy on them. Stop talking, presenting red tape but levy action that is beneficial in saving lives before more is lost. There are areas on the island that, by all standards, are remote. I pray for them.

I beseech this president to put away his ego, his twitter account, help our citizens that need all the help we can give. Thus far God have been with them. God is mighty but let us do our part.
