33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? 34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? 35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. 38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. ( John 18:33-38 KJV)

I read other people blogs when one from “The River Walk” stood out, especially after hearing what our President said about immigrants. I remember what he said about them being criminals, rapist, and all sorts of things. Then he said he does not want to use due process to send them back to their original country. He was the person that had children taken from their parents and said it was the Democrats that made that law. Untrue. He have said many, many untruths in his time in office and so have his friends and associates. Verse thirty eight say it all; “what is truth?” The River Walk dealt with this subject. The President, his friends and associates doesn’t seem to know the truth or want to tell the truth. All others are lying, fake news.

In the passage from John, Pilate is dealing with the trial of Jesus and after the Lord spoke Pilate was in a bind. What is the truth? No one can believe the President of the United States, his spokespeople nor the news or the hacked internet. This is all new since the administration come onto the scene leaving us all sparing against each other trying to flesh out the truth. The President’s base does not want to hear nor believe the truth and the rest of us are floundering like a fish out of water.

All I want is the truth without the hidden lies or agenda. I want the facts and I then can steer the course of my life a little better. I voted for, put into office, people that I thought would fight for my interests and the interests of the majority of us. All I see are people that is willing to let this debacle go on for their own interests and not mine or yours. God help us because this will go on for a while yet. Our very existence is at stake and our lives will not be the same again. It will take a very long time to undo the damage that have been done and will be done. A new Supreme Court Justice could have some of this going on for the next forty years or more. Thank God I will not live long enough to witness it.

There have been so many untruths that I am afraid we will never find all of them in order to correct them and I don’t think we will ever again know what is the truth or a lie. I remember a movie where a marine base commander of a base in Cuba was on trial and he was asked to tell the truth and he said, in a very loud voice, “you can’t stand the truth”. That’s what I think about the President’s base, they know the truth but they wouldn’t be able to believe the truth. They rather believe the lies and pretend their lives are better or will get better and they rather not see what is really happening. What is truth?
