I follow this blog because the person is very good. He work, live, and is on a missionary assignment to Turkey. Instead of my usual blog, I thought to repost one of his. Also, my blog site have changed the writing and viewing and I have had a little trouble going from my old way of doing things to this new format. Bear with me and I will get it, I hope.

The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6) Relate: Australia caught fire. Iran and the US bombed each other. US political bickering reaches an all-time low with the impeachment of Trump. Kobe dies. The UK calls it quits on the European Union. The DOW has the worst plunge in 33 years. The Olympics are postponed. There are locust swarms of Biblical proportions. Beirut blows up. So does Lagos. Syria is still… Syria and everybody still has their hands in that mess. There are floods in Indonesia, volcanoes in the Philippines, earthquakes in Turkey and the Caribbean, riots in Delhi, and the US, and… everywhere. Oh yeah, someone ate a bat in China, and as a result, everyone in the world had to go to their rooms for three months but that still didn’t stop the spread of a virus with some thirty million cases and nearly one million fatalities and counting. As far as years go… 2020 hasn’t been so hot. React: That list above speaks about what has been happening on the world stage, but I am sure each and every one of us has been impacted by multiple items here on a personal level as well. I am sure nearly all of us know people who have had Coronavirus. If any of you do not know someone who is now unemployed thanks to the virus… well, I’d like to introduce myself and now you do. Since it did take a job away from me, it is likely also going to take my visa away and I am scrambling to figure something out within the next couple months. But that is my story. I am sure you have one as well. To be honest, I was a bit distracted as I was doing my daily Bible reading this morning. My mind was caught in a cycle of worry and frustration as my eyes danced over the lines. Then the beginning of Isaiah 9 jumped out and grabbed my attention. “Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever.” In about three and a half months we will finally escape from 2020. On a more serious note, whatever frustration and disappointment and trouble you and I might be facing… it will not last forever. It will end. As great as this truth is, there is an even greater one found just a few verses down. “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Jesus has stepped into our world. Regarding this truth Hebrews 4:13-16 present some incredible truths about what Jesus stepping into our world means for us. (1) God sees everything we are going through. (2) He understands. (3) He has been through it with us. (4) He is interceding on our behalf, and (5) Because He has stepped into our world, we now have access to enter into His.  So what is it we are struggling with? What is it that is causing us to lose sleep? God sees and knows. He cares even more deeply than we do and He is walking through our it with us. He has already won the victory and soon, perhaps sooner than we think, this temporary darkness will be lifted. Respond:
Dear God,
Sometimes it is hard for me to lift up my eyes. God, sometimes it seems impossible to look beyond the trouble that keeps hammering me and my world over and over and over and… Help me to see it through your eyes. Help me to remember that this darkness will not last forever. Even more, help me to remember that I do not have to walk this road alone. Come walk with me. You stepped out of heaven to enter our world, and I ask You to step out of heaven to enter mine. I was not made to walk this life alone and I ask you God… Jesus… my master and savior to take the wheel of my life. You are my living hope.
Amen
