19:14 And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour: and he says unto the Jews, Behold your King! 19:15 But they cried out, away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate says unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, we have no king but Caesar. 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus and led him away.
19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: 19:18 Where they crucified him, and two others with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. (John 19:14-19 KJV)
As I look at verse fifteen, I also think about events of our era. History is repeating itself again. You don’t have to look hard to see it nor think hard to interpret the similarities. This is a situation that have occurred in the past too many times. I’ll focus on just two people of our era.
First will be our former President who have a desire to become President again although he, and his people, say he was elected for another term. Like the chief priests these people say Biden is not their President, Trump is their President. Half of Congress and millions of other people are wrapped in the charms of Trump and no matter what they are told or what they see or what they hear the cult have their king.
Then there is Putin. He may believe he is God, I don’t know, but he treats, not only his people but other people as well, as if he is ordained to have life and death power over them. His people treat him like he is a king. He has been in power for many years and have many more left in this term of office.
Like the Jews that crucified Jesus because Caesar was their king, the Russian military is committing genocide for their king, Putin. Our capitol was stormed for their king, Trump. All of us innocent lambs have a cross to carry for freedom, justice, and life. Follow Jesus, the true King, and have everlasting life.
Thousands of Ukrainians have lost their lives by the will of the false king, but they shall see God and God will make a way for the others. These people think they are going through hell now, but they must remember that God promised everlasting life in a land of milk and honey.
Also remember one last thing, Jesus was crucified in the place of a thief. The people had a choice between Jesus or the thief and they chose letting the thief go free.
This was just a couple of things to think about this Easter Sunday. Life is complicated and fill with danger. Just keep God in your heart and keep His commandments. HAPPY EASTER
