12:7 And Nathan said to David, you are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul; 12:8 And I gave you your master’s house, and your master’s wives into your bosom, and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto you such and such things. 12:9 Wherefore have you despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? you have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and have taken his wife to be your wife, and have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. 12:10 Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house; because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. (II Samuel 12:7-10 KJV)
All through time things have not changed. There has always been deceit, lies, thoughts of grandeur, etc. from men of power and want-a-be followers. Read the Bible as a story with chapters, use the language of today, not individual verses, and most story lines will be as clear as a story from the Lifetime Channel on cable television. It could also be one of the numerous stories from any one of our news outlets. Things have not changed, just the characters and date.
Above, King David took a walk on the roof of his castle and spotted Bathsheba taking a bath. Although he had everything a man could want, he wanted her. Her husband is a warrior hero in David’s army and, because David wanted Bathsheba, had him put on the frontlines to ensure he would be killed. When he was killed David married Bathsheba, who was with his child, to ensure his secret is kept secret.
One story from today’s news is, you got it, about ex-President Trump. As I suspected and as most people knew, Trump knew he lost the election and lied attempting to remain President. As David did Bathsheba, Trump screwed the people, bought as many people into his lies as he could, in hopes they would not find out his lies and he could then retake the Presidency.
David was told God was not pleased with him and his house would suffer. It was too late for him to change things and his house, slowly but surely began to suffer.
And so it is with Trump. He has broken most of God’s commandments. If he would have followed Jesus, loved God, and followed His commandments he would be in a position to have the things that he wants. Trump once said he read the Bible, evidently, he does not remember how people defying God ended up. These people never had a good life, and, in most cases, their house suffered dearly also.
Some of the truth about Trump’s attempt to hold onto the Presidency is finally coming out, showing how fractured his house and administration was. God hates evil and the punishment is not over. He, his house, and his followers will see the raft of God either in this life and surely in the next.
