Do We Have Patience

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.   2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;  3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.   4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.   5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;  and it shall be given him.   6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.   For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:1-6 KJV)

My wife say I have patience, I don’t know, I don’t think so but, as I think back, I just may have. I tend to wait in a long checkout line and not get frustrated or angry. I can be in a traffic backup and just hum along with the music on the radio. I learned from the many years in the military how to ‘hurry-up and wait’ and not be angry about it. If this is patience, then I have patience. However, am I perfect in God, do I have patience in my faith? In order to have patience in your faith in God you must have a religious glow, a religion. I have said more then once, our President does not.

The things that he does, the things that he says, and the persona he shows tell me I can not trust him, follow him or believe anything that he utters. I do not have patience with anyone that that say things that doesn’t mean anything. I do not have patience with anyone that is as narcissistic as our President. I do not have patience with anyone that holds the nation hostage for their ego.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:  20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.   21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:19-21 KJV)

So many people, including our President, are always talking, trying to out-talk you or, simply, do not want to hear anything you or anyone else say. No one have paid attention to what James told the twelve tribes. He told them to be swift to hear. You can not react to anything without hearing first. The President and his followers are always talking, not letting or attempting not to let anyone else talk. And, finally, they are always angry about something. Why? I say they need to read the Bible. I say they need to re-evaluate their standing with God. I say they need to seriously think, ’what would Jesus do’ before they say and/or act.

Patience is a good thing to have. Patience will allow you to hear things you would have missed. Patience will stop you from speaking too fast. Patience will save you from being angered too swiftly and, perhaps, a situation may be defused. I’ve often said, be like Job. He had great patience.

44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.   45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Mark 10:44-45 KJV)

Do I have the patience to wait for the ‘chiefest’, our President, to realize he is our servant? He was elected and is paid to do as we say. If Jesus came to minister to us, what make the President believe he is better than Jesus? The answer? He have narcissism and I do not, for once, have patience.
