1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:1-10 KJV)
This passage suggests many things that we, as a people, want a democratic way of life. We want people to look upon us as a changed person. A person that have seen a way to be a better person, a forgiven person. But, are we better? Have we changed? Should we be forgiven for pass transgressions, but then we say and perform the way we used to?
As my mind flip-flop between the candidates for the presidency, what they are saying now versus what they have said in the pass, I wonder whether what they said or done in the pass was good or bad versus what is said or done now. Jesus knew that Zacchaeus was considered bad because he was a tax collector and was rich. Jesus also knew that a man could change for the better and honored his change by visiting his house to show the people that the man had changed. Have the Democratic candidates changed? Each have bad things in their pass (as all of us do), but have they changed for the good or is it they just want the vote?
The President have not changed, and he have proven it daily, including his people and the people that support him. Even the people that want him to continue, that turn a blind eye toward the bad sayings and acts, do not want better days but, instead, seems to want to dance with the devil. Whatever the case may be, when Jesus pass by He will call to the person that have changed and seek forgiveness.
Many have made mistakes in their lives, atoned those mistakes and have shown and said how sorry they are. There are those that have not and have continued the same path of evil that have always been a part of their life. In the past, I have written about famine, disease, crop eating locus, every bad thing that is written in the Bible and it is really happening again. Wake up. Just because a politician says something doesn’t mean he or she mean it.
