10:12 Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 10:13 There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that all of you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that all of you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:12-13 KJV)
Paul got word that there were problems with the church that he had established in Corinth and the above passage is part of his letter to them before he went there. The problems then are the problems now, only the date and name of the problems have changed.
One of the main things that had happened in that church was the different sects that had developed, and they were arguing with each other over things. This was dividing the church in a way that it could not function properly. This happens all the time, not only in the church but in almost everything.
Our political parties were developed to represent the people in the different areas and make decisions for the will of the majority of the people. Many times, it is not the will of the people but the will of those that were elected, what the elected officials want.
Paul told the church that God will not put on you more than you can bear. He went on to say that you will eventually be able to bear the temptations. Job is a great example of bearing temptations that come upon you.
The issue about abortion is a hot topic that has swept the country and is a great weight on the minds of many people. Trust in God, believe in God, keep God in your heart and there will be a good outcome. Some may not like it, and some will, but God has the final say. Now and forever.
Like in verse twelve, people that do not watch what they are doing (stand) will fall. By doing wrong or doing something for the wrong reasons will have a detrimental affect on their life, their family’s welfare and, the lives of those that follow this leader.
God is eternal and everyone must meet their fate for either doing good or doing wrong. There is not a between. It’s either Heaven or Hell. Your choice, their choice. Like Jesus, Paul had to return to that church. The people on earth were acting badly and God had to send His only Son to set the world straight, if only the world would listen with an open mind.
The people of Ukraine must be saying they cannot bear anymore, but remember, there have always been wars and we have survived all of them. There is always evil dictators and evil government officials, and evil ordinary people. We can survive them all by having faith in God. Even if you lose your life, the ultimate blessing is eternal life with God in Heaven which is better than this earth. Trust in God, He either will bring you to Heaven or leave you here on earth to do more work for Him.
